This Week In Comedy: Bill Burr fights Paper Tigers as Chelsea Handler learns about her whiteness

This week a comedy juggernaut is dropping his new special. Bill Burr’s Paper Tiger show him with a lot of things to say and he has a lot to say about his life. Burr’s a married man with a young child and he thinks he’s crushing it in many ways. So, for the life of him he can’t seem to understand what his wife needs to work on him about. What we love about Bill Burr most is this sort’ve controlled anger that he has when it comes to life, whether it be about major issues or the most mundane of things. Paper Tiger was recorded at The Royal Albert Hall in London and hits Netflix on Tuesday.

Then, on Friday, Chelsea Handler is on a mission to understand her whiteness better. In her new documentary, Hello Privilege, It’s Me Chelsea wants to have the hard conversation with people of color and white folks about what it means to have white privilege and what she as a white lady can do to be a better person about it. It turns out the answer to that question is deep and has many layers. Handler travels the country speaking with a wide range of people on the topic of race including fellow comedians Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, and W. Kamau Bell, anti-racism writer and activist Tim Wise, a Republican women’s group in Orange County, CA, college students at an open mic night, and her former high school boyfriend in New Jersey.
