Back when he started his silly web series Zach Galifianakis wasn’t a household name. He and his pal/writer/comedian Scott Aukerman just did a “dumb internet talk show” but with Galifianakis’ rise in star power, more and more celebs joined in on the fun including presidents and presidential candidates.
Now Netflix is bringing us a movie which seems like just a reason for Galifianakis to be nutty with his friends. Judging by those who star in the movie it seems like that was a success. The plot as we can make it out seems as follows. Galifianakis nearly kills Matthew Mcconaughey during a taping and the show’s executive Will Ferrell (who really is the show’s exec since it’s a Funny Or Die series) requests that Galifiankis do 10 more high-profile interviews to restore his image. Kicking off a road movie where Galifiankis, the ferns, and his crew need to tape those episodes and encountering a lot of famous people along the way including the likes of Peter Dinklage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Tiffany Haddish, Brie Larson, Keanu Reeves, Jon Hamm, David Letterman, Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott, John Cho, Chance the Rapper, Rashida Jones, Hailee Steinfeld, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Tessa Thompson.
Between Two Ferns: The Movie premieres on Netflix September 20th.
